Fort Capital Partners is pleased to announce that Pacific Electrical Installations Ltd. (“PEI” or the “Company”) has been acquired by Aecon Group Inc. (“Aecon”) (TSX:ARE).
PEI is a leading full-service powerline contractor and provides management and construction services for the installation and maintenance of critical electrical infrastructure in British Columbia including power transmission lines (from 25kV to 500kV transmission).
Founded by Mike Bentley in 1978, the Company largely works with BC Hydro, a crown corporation in British Columbia that is one of the largest electric utilities in Canada. Under BC Hydro’s Regionally Optimized Contracts (“ROC”) model, PEI is the designated ROC Contractor for two of the largest regions of the Province and works alongside local BC Hydro crews to support the transmission and distribution infrastructure including trouble response, maintenance, system improvement, end-of-life asset replacement and customer-driven construction programs.
Other customers include Fortis BC, municipalities and a number of private sector customers in the areas of mining, forestry, telecom and private development.
