Fort Capital Partners is pleased to announce the closing of the sale of Helton Industries to FlexiForce Group B.V., a Dutch-based subsidiary of ASSA ABLOY of Sweden.
The acquisition of Helton represents ASSA ABLOY’s first strategic entry to the overhead sectional door market in North America. In 2011, ASSA ABLOY acquired FlexiForce, Europe’s largest manufacturer of overhead door hardware. The integration of FlexiForce and Helton creates the largest independent manufacturer of overhead door hardware in the world. The Helton management team will lead the combined operations in North America.
Helton’s 215,000 square-foot manufacturing facility will be retained by the owners and leased to FlexiForce for ongoing use.
Taluswood Capital, a predecessor to Fort Capital, was retained by Helton to act as financial advisor in the structuring, negotiating and closing of the transaction.
